Business Development Manager, the role focuses on
  • Expanding the market share for the company; will support me in expanding Toastmasters brand to the whole of Southern Africa
  • Nurture existing relations; skill will support me in supporting existing Toastmasters members
  • Attract new customers, skill will help identify new markets for Toastmasters
What experience do you have in strategic planning?
Division Z Director worked closely with my teams to strategically plan on how to grow our market share by 20%; following the plan has yielded 8% growth to date with a higher percentage of achieving 20% growth
What experience do you have in the area of finance?
Toastmasrers club level experience:
  • Banking and reconciliation
  • Paying service providers for in person events
  • Reviewing club membership register for paid up members
  • Ensuring record keeping of invoice and receipts is maintained.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?
From 2014 to 2016: Part of the audit committee for our church, non profit making organization responsible for developing internal control systems over financial reporting.
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
How to inspire and empower people to realise their dreams or goals. NO, I am not an expert at it but have learned valuable lessons and merely share the feedback I have receive from people.
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
Toastmasters has shaped me to be an effective leader in my professional and personal life; I would like to serve others and give them this opportunity to grow. Toastmasters changes lives why not share it with the world! I would like to be part of the touch bearers to spread the word.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
To enhance the member's experience and expand the Toastmasters brand. My focus would be support existing clubs to offer our members a rewarding experience and launch quality clubs in new markets.
Additional information about yourself
Information Technology career woman with strong focus in business development. The business development role has given me exposure in formulating business growth strategies, expanding clientele base, managing and retaining relationship with existing clients.
I enjoy that part of my work and I am interested in bringing the experience to Toastmasters as well as my commitment to serve District 74. I believe in serving others and I am eager to serve District 74 as their Club Growth Director.
Outside the office I am a runner, a lover of outdoors spending time at a beautiful resort regularly once or twice a year is part of my self care ritual.
