We all talk all of the time. However, is your communication compelling, does it have a point and is it well received?

If your answer is no or possibly only sometimes then the Toastmaster platform is where you need to be.

In Toastmasters you continually learn the cornerstones of compelling communication from structure, making a point and adding vocal variety and body language to help make this point.

Nobody goes to the gym once and believes that they are now fit and healthy. Everybody knows that to be fit and healthy you need to eat well and exercise continually. The same applies to becoming a compelling communicator, it is continually training, receiving constructive feedback and course correcting your communication.

You may be  thinking that you don’t do presentations at work and have no intentions of being a professional speaker so why do I need Toastmasters.

The reality is that as mentioned before we all talk all of the time. We can do this well or we can do this badly, and the outcome strongly affects the way that people think about us. This is why speaking and particular public speaking causes so much anxiety and concern.

The good news, as you know, is that with thorough preparation and practice, you can overcome your nervousness and perform exceptionally well. This is the platform that a Toastmaster Club offers you.

In short, being a compelling speaker can enhance your reputation, boost your self-confidence,  and open up countless opportunities.

However, while good skills can open doors, poor ones can close them. For example, your boss might decide against promoting you after sitting through a badly-delivered presentation. You might lose a valuable new contract by failing to connect with a prospect during a sales pitch. Or you could make a poor impression with your new team, because you trip over your words and don’t look people in the eye.

Make sure that you learn how to be a compelling speaker who can connect with their audience no matter if it is an audience of one or one hundred.
