In Loving Memory of Past District Governor Judy Alexander

In Loving Memory of Past District Governor Judy Alexander

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Past District Governor Judy Alexander, who left us on 01 April 2026.

Born in Zimbabwe, Judy moved to South Africa in 1970, where she built a rich and meaningful life. She was married for 21 years to her former husband, affectionately known as Tex, and later shared a loving 26-year relationship with her late partner, Ron. She was a devoted mother to her children, Keith and Hilary, and a nurturing presence to so many others.

Judy’s journey in Toastmasters was one of true transformation. It was here that she found her voice, her confidence, and a deep sense of belonging. She thrived in leadership and rose to serve as District Governor (1997/1998)—a role she embraced with passion, intelligence, and heartfelt dedication. Her contribution to District 74 remains both significant and lasting.

In 2008, Judy moved to the United Kingdom, returning to South Africa in 2018, where she spent her later years in Cape Town. Hers was a full and joyful life, defined by meaningful connections, curiosity, and a love for new experiences. She had a deep appreciation for reading, travel, art, opera, and ballet, and above all, for people. Judy had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. She was always ready to listen, to help, and to share her warmth with unconditional generosity.

Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the leaders she inspired, and the love she so freely gave. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her daughter Hilary, her son Keith, and all family, friends, and members of the Toastmasters community.

“Those we love never truly leave us—they live on in the kindness they shared and the lives they shaped.”

May her soul rest in peace. 🕊️
