District 74 is pleased to announce the Call for Nominations for Toastmasters who wish to serve as District Leaders for the term 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
This is an opportunity to grow as a leader, serve our members, and help shape the future of District 74.

Please note the Nomination Eligibility requirements:
The committee must verify that candidates meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the District Administrative Bylaws. All candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- At the time of taking office
- District Director must have served at least six (6) consecutive months as Club President and at least 12 consecutive months as a Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, Division Director, or a combination of these.
- Program Quality Director and Club Growth Director must have served at least six (6) consecutive months as Club President and at least 12 consecutive months as a Program Quality Director, a Club Growth Director, a Division Director, an Area Director, or a combination of these.
- Division Director must have served at least six (6) consecutive months as a member of a District Council.
- An elective officer must have been an active member of a Toastmasters club in good standing for the entire preceding 12 months, or a member for 12 consecutive months within the past three (3) years within the District the officer shall serve.Â
- A member may only be a candidate for elective office in one (1) District at any given time.Â
- A member may only serve in one (1) position within any District Executive Committee at any given time.
NOTE:
The DLC chair or District Director will notify candidates who were not nominated and advise them of their eligibility to seek office as floor candidates. All eligible floor candidates must declare their intent to run to the District Director at least seven (7) days prior to the elections.
Floor candidates:
Before running from the floor, candidates for all elected positions must have completed the District Leadership Committee’s evaluation process in this election cycle for the specific role they intend to stand for.
Area Directors will be appointed, however, nominations are still required!
The respective incoming District Directors will appoint Area Directors.
Who is allowed to nominate candidates?
Members of District Council (i.e. Vice President Education, Club Presidents, Area Directors, Division Directors or Cabinet Members). No one is required to second the nomination. You may nominate yourself.

Area Director Appointment
An Area Director (AD) is appointed by the District Director or elected by the Area Council, serving as the vital link between the District and clubs, supporting them through regular visits, club officer training, contest coordination, and by ensuring member needs are met.  Each Area Director oversees four to six clubs within a designated geographical area.
How Area Directors Are Selected
- Appointment: The District Director appoints qualified members to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Club Liaison:Â Acts as the primary link between clubs and the District.
- Club Visits:Â Visits each club at least twice a year to assess needs and offer support.
- Officer Support:Â Assists Club Presidents and other officers, often monthly.
- Training:Â Helps facilitate Club Officer Training sessions.
- Area Council Chair:Â Leads meetings with club leaders.
- Contests:Â Coordinates Area Speech Contests.
- Reporting:Â Submits club visit reports to the Division Director.

Club Extension Chair – The Club Extension Chair grows the district’s future. By leading the formation of new clubs, this role brings the Toastmasters experience to new communities and organizations.
Member Retention Coordinator – Retention starts with connection. This role focuses on keeping members engaged, valued, and inspired—helping clubs turn first visits into lifelong Toastmasters journeys.
Youth Leadership Team Leader – The Youth Leadership Team Leader invests in tomorrow’s leaders. By guiding youth programs, this role empowers young people with communication and leadership skills that last a lifetime.
Speechcraft Team Leader – The Speechcraft Team Leader introduces Toastmasters to the world. Through well-run Speechcraft programs, this role transforms guests into confident speakers and future members.
Club Leads Coordinator – This role turns interest into action. The Club Leads Coordinator manages prospective member leads, ensuring every inquiry is followed up and every opportunity is maximized.
Corporate Liaison – The Corporate Liaison strengthens partnerships with organizations. By promoting Toastmasters as a professional development solution, this role expands our reach in the corporate space.
Stock Custodian – Behind every successful event is strong logistics. The Stock Custodian manages district materials responsibly, ensuring resources are available, organized, and well maintained.
Finance Committee Chair – The Finance Committee Chair ensures financial stewardship and transparency. This role supports sound budgeting and responsible decision-making for the district’s success.
District Asset Coordinator – This role protects and manages district assets. With attention to detail and accountability, the District Asset Coordinator ensures resources are tracked and used effectively.
Claims Administrator – Accuracy and trust define this role. The Claims Administrator processes reimbursements efficiently, ensuring policies are followed and members are supported.
Audit Committee Chair – The Audit Committee Chair strengthens confidence in district operations. By reviewing financial practices, this role ensures compliance, accountability, and good governance.
