Toastmasters International hosts a convention every August!

The convention that I attended in 2014 in Malaysia remains firmly embedded in my mind for  four reasons:

1. it was a multi racial  experience. I met and interacted with toastmasters from all over the world, e.g. Philippines, Singapore, U.S. etc. It’s interesting how despite where we come from, we all share a common goal of developing ourselves in leadership and communication.
2. witnessing the world championship of public speaking first hand, the best of best in public speaking, your equivalent of the soccer world cup in Russia.
3. it was a multi cultural experience. The Malaysian street restaurants food, and social ambience and fanfare were unforgettable.
4. it was an opportunity to bond with toastmasters from Southern Africa outside Southern Africa. Hence that respect and  friendship remains to this day.

If I had the opportunity to attend another international toastmasters convention, I would definitely do it again. The 87^th Annual Toastmasters International Convention runs from August 22–25 in beautiful Chicago, Illinois. Will you be there?
