In loving memory- Lorna B. Holtman,DTM

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Division C Director, Lorna Holtman,DTM, on 08 May 2026. 🕊️

A dedicated Toastmaster since 1 June 2022, Lorna quickly became a pillar of service and leadership within District 74. She served with distinction in various club leadership roles and as an Area Director before taking on the role of Division C Director. Her commitment, professionalism, and passion for developing others left a lasting impact on everyone privileged to work alongside her.

Beyond Toastmasters, Lorna was an accomplished academic, professor, and leader with vast experience in research development, strategic planning, and governance. She served for many years as Director of Postgraduate Studies, managing multimillion-dollar grants and bursaries while mentoring and shaping future leaders in education and research.

Her expertise extended into public service, where she served as a Board Member of a State Entity, providing oversight in finance, budgeting, and risk mitigation. Known for leading with excellence, integrity, and ethics, Lorna embodied the very principles of servant leadership.

A certified Reinvention Practitioner with over 14 years of leadership experience, Lorna held qualifications including a BSc in Zoology & Botany and a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction (Science Education). Her wisdom, strategic insight, and calm leadership inspired many both within and beyond Toastmasters.

Lorna also believed deeply in lifelong learning and global connection. She regularly attended conferences in District 87. She was learning Mandarin and served as President of Comeng Plus, an online comedy club based in Indonesia that focused on using comedy to improve English proficiency. Her passion for communication, culture, and empowering others through learning reflected the vibrant and dynamic person she was.

Lorna’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the leaders she mentored, and the example she set through service and excellence.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Toastmasters community during this difficult time.

“A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.”

Rest peacefully, Lorna. Your impact will never be forgotten. 🤍
