Colleta Mudondo – President of Highlands Rotary Club and Treasurer of L’Amour Club

After having understood that Rotarians are people of action, I joined them in 2008. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders and problem solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, be it across the globe, in their communities or in themselves.

I joined Toastmasters after realizing that I had lost my public speaking skills since leaving the corporate turf in 2011. I finally got sold out to L’Amour Toastmasters Club after a shopping spree for a ‘friendly’ club.

Since becoming President of the Highlands Rotary Club and Treasurer of L’Amour Club this year, I have realized that the structures running these organizations are interlinked. Emphasis is on member training, learn-by-doing and volunteering. The Presidential and PR roles are so interrelated one can actually cross-pollinate ideas. Meetings for both organizations are now virtual, giving us access to experts from far and wide.
