About the Youth Leadership Programme
The Youth Leadership Programme is an experiential and participatory program designed for students to develop public speaking, communication, and leadership abilities. Adapted from the internationally respected Toastmasters model, this program is typically delivered over 8 sessions in 8 weeks, but can be adjusted to 6 sessions to accommodate school schedules.

Program Requirements
- Minimum of 20 students
- Venue provided by school
- No fees for students
- Weekly sessions over 6-8 weeks

How to Get Started with YLP
Follow these simple steps to bring the Youth Leadership Programme to your school or community
1. Complete DTM & Choose YLP
As part of completing the DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) award, choose to participate in the YLP program. Understand the requirements and commit to completing the program as part of your DTM journey.
2. Choose a School
Research local schools that could benefit from YLP. Consider factors like location, student demographics, and potential impact. Select a school to partner with.
3. Download & Customize Proposal
Visit the Toastmasters website and download the YLP proposal. Review the template and customize it for your chosen school’s specific needs.
4. Approach School Leadership
Reach out to the school principal or teachers to discuss YLP. Share the proposal and highlight the program’s benefits. Alternatively, contact the Youth Leadership Chair.
5. Recruit Volunteers
Post on the Youth Leadership WhatsApp group to ask for volunteers. Coordinate with interested Toastmasters members to support the YLP program.
6. Schedule Program Start
Collaborate with the school/community to determine a start date. Plan logistics, including venue, materials, and resources needed for successful delivery.
7. Obtain YLP Manual
Contact the Youth Leadership Chair or YLP Manual Custodian to request the YLP manual and any additional resources needed for program delivery.

Important Note
Toastmasters clubs cannot charge fees to youth participants. All costs are covered by the sponsoring club or corporate partner.
