Renowned global business speaker, entrepreneur, and thought leader Vusi Thembekwayo, has been honoured with the prestigious District 74 Southern Africa Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to communication and leadership as a Non-Toastmaster.
On Saturday 3rd May 2025, Vusi Thembekwayo was honoured with the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Award, which recognizes Non-Toastmasters members who have made significant impacts in their communities through exceptional communication or leadership skills. Vusi Thembekwayo was selected for his dynamic ability to inspire and empower audiences worldwide, delivering transformative messages on business, leadership, and personal growth. His compelling oratory, showcased through keynote addresses, media appearances, and his work as the founder of MyGrowthFund, exemplifies the qualities of a world-class communicator.

Thembekwayo, the 2024 Honore of the prestigious 14th African Achievers Awards and recognized as a Business Leader of the Year by GQ South Africa in 2020, has built a reputation for delivering speeches that blend empathy, insight, and actionable strategies. His work has inspired countless individuals to pursue excellence, aligning with Toastmasters’ core values of integrity, respect, service, and excellence.
The award was presented at the annual District 74 May Conference held at Olwazini Nedbank Training Centre. During the event, Thembekwayo captivated attendees with his award acceptance address, sharing insights on how public speaking is a tool that one wields and has the power of driving change. Previous award recipients include Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng Former vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town in 2020 and in 2021 to Wilson B Nkosi the veteran radio DJ and musician.
