On Sunday, September 1st Gaborone Toastmasters Club conducted a public speaking training for Miss Botswana’s Top 12 Finalists. As Miss Botswana Finalists, they are in preparation for the Grand Finale which provides various speaking opportunities, including a 30 Second Question and Answers Session on critical issues. The training conducted focused on the fundamentals of public speaking and approaches to impromptu speeches, furthermore a host of practical activities for the Finalists to apply lessons learnt.
Toastmasters recognizes that it is of importance in any profession to be able to articulate one’s ideas in a manner that can be clearly understood by the audience. A skill of which anyone can learn, develop and master.
Toastmasters provides a foundation for aspiring public speakers to work towards attaining this skill by learning public speaking fundamentals, practicing delivering speeches and receiving constructive feedback.
Gaborone Toastmasters couldn’t have been more excited to extend the gift of Toastmasters to those who have not come across it yet. It was a delight to have spent the afternoon with the Finalists who were eager to take to the stage to implement the lessons learnt from the training. We wish all the Finalists well in their future endeavors!!
