Presentation skills – Revolutionise your next presentation

Did you know “Most people would rather be lying in the coffin as opposed to giving the eulogy?

Did you know that 86.1% of presenters say presentation skills affect their career and income?

I would like to give you three tips that will revolutionise your next presentation. Before we start here is a bonus tip:

Have three clear goals of what you want your audience to remember after you are done. This is what you want to accomplish throughout your presentation. It has to be clear and laser focused on the topic. “If you don’t know what you want to achieve in your presentation your audience never will.” – Harvey Diamond

  1. First things first! Design a brief opening (5-10% of your time)
    A. Tell them what you want to talk about.
    B. Talk about what you want them to leave with from your presentation.
  2. Secondly! The Body of your presentation should be 70% of your presentation time. It needs to be adapted to your audience. Thus audience analysis is a must. As a general rule when dealing with a mixed audience seek to meet the needs of about 70% of the audience.
  3. Thirdly! Have a brief closing (5-10% of your presentation time). Summarize the key points from your presentation.
When it comes to memorable presentations remember that your audience is most likely going to remember only three things. Lilly Walters had this to say: “The success of your presentation will be judged not by the knowledge you send but by what the listener receives.”
