One of our meetings before Covid-19

On Monday, 19 October 2020, 31 years after its charter, Golden Gavel Advanced Toastmasters recognised and celebrated Distinguished Toastmasters and invited DTMs from around the country, including long-standing members in District 74 such as Tom Horne (1974), Ian Bratt (1981), Tim Knights (1984), Glenis Whitehead (1990), our current District Director, Merryl Jubber (1991) and Rob Douglas (1996).

Jonas Mashifane DTM, Toastmaster of the Evening, displayed his newly acquired plaque and reminded everyone that attaining the position of DTM, while challenging, is definitely attainable.Tim Knights DTM introduced us to a number of the “older” DTMs, calling on them to relate one or two memorable moments in their progression to distinguished as table topics. Golden Gavel currently has 8 DTMs (the most in any club in District 74), most with dual membership.
