“A flower does not think of competing against the flower next to it, it just blooms” Zen Shin. That was the Quote of the Day which was later used for Table Topics contest at the Evolving Ladies Club speech contest which took place on March 2, 2021. As Toastmasters the quote reminds us that we don’t compete against each other but we compete against ourselves.

Among the four epic speeches delivered during the contest, two came from first time contestants, which shows that we are evolving as a club. Our evaluation speech came from Andree Venter, all the way from South Africa and it was entitled “Where were you on November 9”. It was delivered in such a manner that we all felt that we were together on that particular 9th of November. In the end, we got a team of phenomenal ladies who will represent our club at the Area contest and I am sure all the way to the International Contest. Thumbs up to Evolving Ladies for being the 1st to hold the 2020/2021 contest in Division Z.
