Despite the inability to travel to Paris to attend the Toastmasters International Convention as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gaborone Toastmasters Club, Botswana, brought Paris to Gaborone through an evening of French speeches entitled ‘A Night in Paris’. The French Embassy in Botswana and Alliance Francaise participated in the special event. 
The ‘Night in Paris’ event had standard elements of a regular Toastmasters meeting which included prepared speeches, impromptu speeches, evaluation and the loyal toast. Kesego Monyazela (VPM) noted that “the event enabled members to stretch themselves as well as demonstrate their growth in terms of confidence and competence.”
