I joined Toastmasters in October 2019. At first I thought it was only about advancing English speaking, but I soon realised that there’s more to it than just being a communication skills organisation. As a 20 year old, I feel motivated and confident to know I’m now experienced enough to evaluate a speech and that I can take up any role in a meeting including that of Toastmaster of the day. This has built so much confidence and self worth in me and I know I won’t struggle with my presentations at University. With me studying Psychology, choosing the Motivational Strategies pathway was pivotal in developing an empathetic character and to be able to motivate others. Toastmasters is my biggest resource in self development and I will forever be a member.
