Note from the Editor

When you step back and look at where Toastmasters started, and how far we have come as an organisation, it’s simply awesome. And this is one of the few times when the word ‘awesome’ is actually appropriate. A lot has changed since then, but mostly for the better.

In today’s issue, our cover star is Lucinda Harman, the Division L Director. Read about her as she narrates how she is keeping her eye on the prize and the Division L team pride intact with wisdom nuggets and a wealth of experience, that are being passed on over time and space by fellow leaders and mentors in Toastmasters, stretching as far back as 96 years ago, when the organisation was born.

Even more exciting news is what’s coming next after the Mentorship without Borders programme launch. Get to know how you can ‘pay it forward.’  Also inside, Gary Tintinger shares trade secrets on how he pitched to win in the PSASA 2020 Speaker Factor contest.

Milestones, numbers and awards are not the best part of the Toastmasters story. It’s the amazing human transformation component that is most satisfying.  Find out more on how Toastmasters is positively impacting the lives of both the young and the old in our regular pillars, from mentorship and learning new languages to friendships and alliances forged during fun filled meetings, both online and in-person.

We couldn’t have made it this far without your growing support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us the great newsletter that we are becoming. Please keep writing to us with your feedback and short, punchy 50 – 100 words articles including high resolution pictures to; excellence@toastmasters74.org

Corona is still a reality. Please keep safe.
