On the 20th of October, in commemoration of the breast cancer awareness month, the Evolving Ladies Club invited Patricia, a cancer survivor and Dr. Shirley, an oncologist and cancer reseacher to speak about the ‘C’ disease. Patricia spoke about her journey from the time she was diagnosed with cancer up to the time she was cleared, after treatment.  As a survivor she delivered a powerful testimony which was not only an inspirational story but a wake up call for all who heard it. Dr Shirley shared with us the stages of breast cancer and the treatment options available. She was quick to assure women not to be scared of the ‘C’ word but to seek guidance early from professional health practitioners. We were truly grateful to be able to meet with and share space with such beautiful and courageous women. Ladies, get those mammograms prescribed any day, any time. It can make a difference.
